Capitol Complex
(a)
In this section, “Capitol Complex” has the meaning assigned by Section 443.0071 (Review of Construction in Capitol Complex).(b)
Notwithstanding Subchapter D and subject to Subsection (d), the commission may not lease, sell, or otherwise dispose of real property or an interest in real property located in the Capitol Complex.(c)
This section does not affect the commission’s authority under Subchapter E to lease space in state office buildings and parking garages.(d)
The commission may develop or operate a qualifying project, as that term is defined by Section 2267.001 (Definitions), in the Capitol Complex if:(1)
the legislature by general law specifically authorizes the project; and(2)
before the commission enters into a comprehensive agreement for the project, the legislature individually approves the project under Section 2268.058 (Submission of Detailed Proposals for Qualifying Projects; Exemption; Commission Review).
