Contract Notification
(a)
In this section “major information system” includes:(1)
one or more computers that in the aggregate cost more than $100,000;(2)
a service related to computers, including computer software, that costs more than $100,000; and(3)
a telecommunications apparatus or device that serves as a voice, data, or video communications network for transmitting, switching, routing, multiplexing, modulating, amplifying, or receiving signals on the network and costs more than $100,000.(b)
A state agency shall provide written notice to the Legislative Budget Board of a contract for a major information system. The notice must be on a form prescribed by the Legislative Budget Board and filed not later than the 30th day after the date the agency enters into the contract.(c)
A university system or institution of higher education must provide written notice to the Legislative Budget Board under Subsection (b) only if the cost of the major information system exceeds $1 million. In this subsection, “university system” has the meaning assigned by Section 61.003 (Definitions), Education Code.
