Tex. Agric. Code Section 144.122
Altering Mark or Brand


(a)

A person commits an offense if the person alters or changes a mark or brand on livestock owned or controlled by that person without first having changed the recorded mark or brand.

(b)

An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $500.
